The CleanEnviro Summit Singapore (CESG) Catalyst 2023 took place on 7 June 2023, in partnership with Ecosperity Week 2023. Themed ‘Towards a Low Carbon and Just Transition’, the by-invitation-only event was held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, and attended by over 100 senior industry leaders.

Participants gleaned insights into the key takeaways from COP27 and discussed the challenges and adequacy of enablers for Singapore’s net zero drive and green transition in the workforce. The inputs and outcomes of CESG Catalyst 2023 will help shape the discussions at CESG 2024, to be held from 19 to 21 June 2024.

Programme

  • Opening Remarks on "Priorities ahead - What's next after COP27?”
In line with Singapore’s enduring commitment made at COP27 to contribute to global efforts against climate change and achieve a net zero emissions goal by 2050, emphasis was placed on the vision to strengthen the three key enablers: financing the green transition, corporate transparency on sustainability, and workforce transformation. This would ensure that all segments of the society are well-equipped with skills and support necessary for a smooth transition.

Given the rising cost of doing business, seeking ways to optimise costs through decarbonisation initiatives makes good financial sense for companies. This session explored how private and public sectors could work together to support the development of sustainable and transition finance, and the climate finance initiatives available to help businesses decarbonise.
