The upcoming state-of-the-art Keppel Marina East Desalination Plant (KMEDP) has the capacity to produce 137,000m3 of fresh drinking water daily. It will be Singapore’s first large-scale dual-mode desalination plant that can treat both seawater and freshwater depending on weather conditions, through reverse osmosis and other advanced membrane technology. It seamlessly integrates with surrounding greenery, and the underground treatment facilities free up nearly 20,000 m2 of open green rooftop space for community recreation.
